Board & Brush

Broard and brush

Hello, first I want to say thank you for stopping by and reading my blog post. I truly appreciate you taking the time to read my content. This post is not sponsored at all but I wanted to share what this company is all about. At the end of the post I have included a link for you if you would like to try them out.

As I was preparing for my wedding the one thing I wanted to do was have a set time that I could just have fun with my bridesmaids. Two of my them live far from me and one of them lives in town but our schedule is always hectic that we never get to spend a lot of time together. So as they were planning my bachelorette party (I’m not into the party type scene so I didn’t want a typical bachelorette party) I had hinted a few times that I wanted to do a painting type of activity. So they began planning. They kept everything a secret till they eventually had to tell me what we were doing. When I found out that we were doing a board and brush project I was so excited.

The reason I found out was because you have to select what you would like to do. You sign up online and get to choose what type of board you want and what you want written on it. They have so many to choose from including holiday styles. Once you have your selection, they will have it ready for you when you come in and you can customize it to your liking.

We started our night with dinner first at my favorite local Asian restaurant called Basil. It is a family owned restaurant and it is so delicious. Hong and Nikki are the owners, Hong is the chef and Nikki runs the front of the restaurant. Check them out and let them know Barbara sent you! Then we headed to Board & Brush in San Angelo, TX. When we first got there, we were given instructions and got to select how we wanted to customize our wood project. They provide everything for you and walk you step by step on each process. They have so many paint colors to choose from as well as several stain chooses.  You can put special character marks on your board by hampering, sanding, adding chicken wire mark, and so much more. If you are not a crafty person don’t worry, they will show you each step of the way, how to stain it, applying the stencil, removing the stencil, painting it, attaching/drilling the hooks so that you can hang your board afterwards. You will leave the place feeling so proud of your work.

We had so much fun working on our projects and we laughed til we cried. We reminisced on old memories as we created new memories. This was the best way to have a relaxing time before all the wedding festivities started. We each have something to look back on from this day. I’m really glad that I didn’t have the typical type of bachelorette party because this was so much better.

Thanks for hosting us Board & Brush/San Angelo, TX.
